The mission of Invest in Girls (IIG) is to educate and support the next generation of financially literate girls and increase the number of women working in the fields of finance and financial services.  Advisor Mary Gudenkauf oversees this group in tandem with Emily Phelps, a Tactical Portfolio Manager with Aegon.  “Prairie is so fortunate to have such a partnership where an area business is invested in our students,” said Gudenkauf.  “Participants gain a deeper understanding of the financial world and are exposed to multiple career opportunities while in high school.” 

IIG’s innovative model combines personal finance education with career exploration in a supportive environment.  Twelve Prairie High School girls participated in 18 classes through the school year and completed their coursework with a business tour at Aegon Asset Management.
