Volunteer Services
College Community Volunteers serve an important role in the success of our educational programs and help ensure that our district motto “Success For All” continues to be a reality. Many programs, events and activities exist because of the leadership of volunteers.
The mission of volunteering at Prairie is to enhance the educational experience of our students. Your efforts as a volunteer, whether it be in the classroom, library or media centers, on field trips, Parent-Teacher Organization events, athletic and music events or the many other ways that you help, is recognized and appreciated by the School Board, administration and staff at Prairie Schools.
If you would like to volunteer, please start by clicking on the link below. Volunteer applications must be submitted a minimum of 2 business days before you begin your volunteer time here. As part of processing the online volunteer application, all applications will be checked against the national sex offender database and are subject to a criminal background check.

Volunteering in the classroom
Contact your child’s teacher if you would like to volunteer in your child’s classroom. You must fill out the online application at least 2 business days before you plan to volunteer in our buildings. Contact the District Volunteer Coordinator if you are a community volunteer and would like help finding a volunteer placement in one of our classrooms.
Volunteering for field trips
Contact your child’s teacher if you would like to volunteer for your child’s field trips. You must fill out the online application at least 2 business days before the field trip . For example, you must register by Thursday for a Monday field trip. You must sign in at your child’s building and get a yellow badge before the field trip even if you are driving yourself.
Volunteering at our Early Childhood Center
If you are interested in volunteering in our Early Childhood Education Program which includes preschool classrooms, please contact the Early Childhood Education Center at 319-848-5296.
Point students volunteering at Prairie elementary schools
Step 1. Fill out and return the21.22 Point parent student volunteer letter to your counselor.
Step 2. Fill out the Online Volunteer Application form so you can sign into our other buildings.
PHS students volunteering at other Prairie schools
Step 1. Get the permission form from Mrs. Amunson in the counseling office
Step 2. Fill out the Online Volunteer Application form so you can sign into our other buildings.
Step. 3. Make an appointment to arrange your placement with the Volunteer Coordinator (alialldredge@crprairie.org).
