Andrew Davis

College Community Schools has named Andrew Davis as Director of Activities for Prairie High School effective July 1 pending Board approval.  Davis currently serves as Prairie’s Assistant Activities Director and takes over for Rocky Bennett who is retiring at the end of the school year after serving 18 years in the position.

Davis, a native of Wapello, Iowa, is in his 24th year with the District and his 25th year in education. He is currently the Assistant Activities Director which supports all 7-12 district activities and expands opportunities for students.

“Last year, we conducted an exhaustive search and interview process for an Assistant Activities Director, knowing that we were examining not only qualifications for that position, but also for the anticipated lead AD position,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Wheeler. “Andrew, not only is deeply connected and committed to our community, but has consistently demonstrated the leadership, knowledge and skill essential for a lead AD.  Andrew possesses extensive knowledge of Prairie in both academics and activities, making him the perfect fit for this important position working to support students and families with robust and high quality athletic, fine arts, and club opportunities. I want to also thank and celebrate Rocky Bennett for his long and dedicated service to the students of Prairie.”

Davis received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, earned a  Master’s in Teaching and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Saint Mary and a  Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Iowa.

“I am excited and honored to have the privilege to work with the incredible students, staff, and stakeholders associated with Prairie activities,” said Davis. “Together, we will work to be student-focused and create positive experiences for our students and supporters of all activities. I will continue to build upon all the great things that are happening here at Prairie.”

Andrew and his wife Carrie have two boys. Dade is a sophomore at Prairie High School and Beckett is a freshman at Prairie Point.

A search for an Assistant Activities Director will begin immediately.
