Iowa Talented and Gifted Association (ITAG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Anderson, Elementary Talented and Gifted teacher in the College Community School District to their board.

The 2022 ITAG Board of Directors will also have a new president starting May 1, 2022, Dr. Todd Hodgkinson as current president Lora Duffy-Danker serves out her term. Dr. Todd Hodgkinson is an Associate Professor of Secondary Education at Drake University, where he works to educate teachers about the needs of gifted learners. Dr. Hodgkinson has a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Iowa and a M.A. in Gifted Education from University of Northern Colorado. His research and pedagogical interests focus on the intersection between curriculum design and supporting the social-emotional needs of gifted learners.

The mission of the Iowa Talented and Gifted Association (ITAG) is to meet the needs of talented and gifted children and programs through advocacy, education, and networking.  In support of the belief that gifted and talented children have the right to learn and grow without harm or prejudice, and that educational organizations have a responsibility to confront systemic and institutional racism, we denounce racial injustice and systemic racism of any kind.  We pledge to assist and support efforts addressing issues of institutional racism and racial injustice for talented and gifted students.
