Congratulations to Prairie Point Middle School Band Director Jeff Schafer who received the Middle School Phillip Sehmann Excellence in Teaching Award from the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association on Saturday, December 2.  The award is given annually to one high school, middle school and elementary band director. 

The Phillip Sehmann Excellence in Teaching Award is given in memory of Mr. Phillip Sehmann, who had a highly distinguished career as Director of Bands at Crestwood Community Schools. The individuals were recognized display the qualities of excellence, dedication, and commitment to the value of instrumental music education in our schools. This award is considered the highest honor we bestow on our fellow NEIBA members.
