Our Prairie High School Nutrition staff had a ‘Cool Time’ celebrating National School Lunch Week which is October 10-14

The National School lunch program was started back in 1946 to offer healthy midday meals to children at school. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week in 1962 to observe the importance of a healthy school lunch and the impact it has both inside and outside the classroom in a child’s life. Today the NSLP serves nearly 30 million children every school day!

We celebrate our entire school-wide nutrition staff this week. There are so many things that go into providing healthy meals to over 5,800 students on a daily basis.  Our entire Nutritional Services staff provides consistent healthy meals to students in order to fuel learning each and every day.  The work our nutrition staff does to both feed hungry students and put a smile on their face through positive interactions is vital to achieve our vision of Success for ALL.

Please join College Community Schools as we celebrate our outstanding school nutritional staff!
