Superintendent Dr. Doug Wheeler and School Board member Todd Hahlen hosted a meeting Thursday morning with our local city mayors. Dr. Wheeler provided a district update which included how ESSER fund dollars are spent, enrollment outlook, capital project updates, and our Prairie Ready initiative.  The mayors also provided an update on their respective communities.

“These meetings are extremely beneficial as we continue to foster connectivity between our individual communities and the school,” said Eldy Miller, Mayor of Ely. “We want our school to have a larger imprint in our community and we sure appreciate the partnership and communication.”

The annual meetings with local mayors include the cities of Cedar Rapids, Ely, Fairfax, Shueyville, Swisher and Walford.

“These ongoing meetings are so important in building and strengthening partnerships with our cities,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Wheeler. “Our communities have so much to offer our students and families and we appreciate their engagement.”
