FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team #11241, PRAIRIE, made history at the 2026 Iowa Regional by becoming the first-ever Cedar Rapids team to earn the Rookie All-Star award. This prestigious honor recognizes a rookie team that exemplifies a strong foundational partnership and a dedication to the FIRST mission: inspiring students to lead the way in science and technology.
FIRST Robotics Competition is open to all 9th–12th graders, as well as 14-year-old 8th graders. The competitive season runs from January through March. Following the January kickoff, students design, program, and build industrial-sized robots for a brand-new annual challenge. From April to December, the team focuses on community service, fundraising, and building professional ties with local STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) leaders to inspire a culture of innovation.
Registration for next season is now open. For more information, please contact AChristiansen@crprairie.org.
