Congratulations to Prairie High School teacher Beth Lillskau has received AATG’s (American Association of Teachers of German) highest honor, the Outstanding German Educator Award.
Each year two educators nationwide can earn this reward (one college level and one 9-12 teacher). Beth was the 9-12 educator awarded this year and the first German Teacher in Iowa to receive this award.
The American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) recognizes German teachers and programs for their outstanding contributions to the teaching and learning of German in the US. The award also recognizes teachers who have demonstrated excellence in German education and creative leadership in German language education in local, state, and national arenas.
During her tenure at Prairie, Lillskau has led numerous GAPP exchanges, presented at multiple conferences including state, regional and national level conferences, held roles in our Iowa AATG chapter, participated in National German Exam and AP testing, volunteered to score AP tests and has brought representatives from the German consulate into her classroom.
The award will be formally presented during a virtual presentation on November 9th.
