Fifth-grade students at Prairie Creek Intermediate School recently traded their textbooks for real-world roles during an engaging Junior Achievement (JA) BizTown experience. Prairie Creek Intermediate School hosted JA BizTown over four days, ensuring that every fifth-grade student had the chance to participate in this valuable learning adventure.

JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows students to operate banks, run an automotive shop, become a reporter, navigate healthcare, start a business, run a data center, and vote for mayor. These valuable experiences allowed students to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.

“Students demonstrated remarkable teamwork and enthusiastically explored various real-world jobs and industries,” said Prairie Creek Intermediate Principal Jen McDonnell. “Our students truly valued the immersive nature of JA BizTown, and we are thrilled to offer these kinds of impactful experiences.”

The JA BizTown simulation was conveniently hosted within the Prairie Creek Intermediate School gymnasium over four days, ensuring that every fifth-grade student had the chance to participate in this valuable learning adventure.
