SRO Training HP

The Cedar Rapids Police Department conducted Solo Response to Active Threat training with local School Resource Officers (SROs). The training, which took place at Prairie campus, involved Prairie’s SROs and other officers from across the Cedar Rapids metro area. Officers will continue this training at other schools with assigned SROs.

The College Community School District has three School Resource Officers. Officer Obbink is located at Prairie High School, Officer Wardenburg is located at Prairie Point Middle School and Officer Hepke is responsible for Prairie Creek Intermediate School, Prairie Crossing and campus-wide district buildings.

“The SROs are integral members of our school community, building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents,” said Superintendent Dr. Doug Wheeler. “We are very appreciative of the invaluable contributions our SROs make to the safety and well-being of our school community.”
