Great news for students and families in the College Community School District! The construction and renovations funded by the 2020 bond issue and state penny tax are nearing completion.
The former Prairie Creek Intermediate School building is being transformed into a modern learning environment for 9th graders and the Prairie Delta program. Students can expect to start the 2024-2025 school year in this impressive new space, featuring:
- A secure main entrance with a new entryway/front office addition
- Convenient access to the high school cafeteria via an enclosed walkway
- Dedicated space for band and choir, created by remodeling the west science classrooms
- Upgraded finishes throughout the building, including classrooms, restrooms, library, and hallways
- A district professional learning space in the renovated old study hall
- Enhanced safety measures throughout the building
Prairie Delta, currently located at Kirkwood Community College, will also have its own designated entrance on the south side of the building. Prairie Delta is an extension of Prairie High School and offers a smaller learning environment for 10th-12th graders in the district.
Prairie Point Continues to Serve 7th & 8th Grades
Prairie Point Middle School will remain the home for 7th and 8th graders in the district.
Get Ready for a Great School Year!
