Maestro Tim Hankewich, the conductor of Orchestra Iowa, visited the orchestra classes at Prairie Creek Intermediate School this week. During his visit, he talked about what it’s like being a conductor and a professional musician. Maestro Hankewich also answered student questions, led a student performance, and worked with the students to compose their own 10-minute symphony.

The orchestra program started this fall for 5th graders. Orchestra program., led by teacher Taryn Kroymann, has approximately 75 students involved in the program.
