Congratulations to our Prairie High School students who received their official Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) recognition at last night’s pinning ceremony held in the Concert Hall. This was the first official class of students to complete the nursing assistant course in house at Prairie and sit for Iowa’s CNA certification examination which consists of both a written portion and a clinical skills portion.

During the pinning ceremony instructors Mary Beth Neal and Jackie Martin officially ‘pinned’ students by placing a CNA Pin on their uniform and stethoscope around their neck as Principal, Karla Hawley, called them forward. The ceremony concluded with students reciting an oath to maintain and elevate the standard of the nursing assistant profession.

The CNA program, which was launched in January, is a pathway in the Health and Public Services Academy.
