Progress continues on the new 5/6 building which is located south of Prairie Point Middle School. Below is a Winter 2023 Construction Update on the new 5/6 building which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2023.
Work Status Through January 5
- All gym equipment Installed
- All acoustical ceiling grid installed in classroom neighborhoods
- All wood casework installed in classroom neighborhoods
- Elevator installed
- All lighting and HVAC grilles and diffusers installed in classroom neighborhoods
- Rubber sheet flooring installation started in classroom neighborhoods
- Locker installation is ongoing in classroom neighborhoods
- Drywall finishing and painting ongoing at lunch area/multipurpose room and media center
Coming up in the Next Few of Months
- Installation of sound ceiling in music classrooms
- Wood casework installation to begin in art and music classrooms
- Carpet installation to begin in Area B classroom neighborhood
- Install ACM panels (aluminum composite material) at building exterior
- Installation of plumbing fixtures in classroom neighbors
- Startup of HVAC equipment in Area A
- Terrazzo flooring installation at lunch area/multipurpose room
