College Community Schools held their quarterly SRO (School Resource Officer) meeting today in the high school presentation room. Those in attendance were Prairie High School SRO Janae Obbink, Prairie Point SRO Wyatt Wardenburg, Cedar Rapids Police Lieutenant Matt Welsh, district administrators and staff.

The purpose of the quarterly meetings is to address student concerns and support, supervision, training opportunities, and safety needs that arise.

“We are very thankful for the partnership the College Community School District has with the Cedar Rapids Police Department,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Wheeler.  “It is important that we continue to foster positive relationships among law enforcement, educators, and our youth. We want a positive and safe learning environment for our entire school community.”
