The World Food Prize Iowa Youth Institute is an amazing experience for students in grades 8-12, held annually at Iowa State University every April. During this day-long event, students are able to explore majors and careers related to combating global hunger & poverty while also presenting their own ideas and solutions to real-world experts and professionals.

Rithvika Sivaprakash, a junior at Prairie High School participated in this year’s virtual World Food Prize Iowa Youth Institute on April 22, 2022. She presented her research related to food security on Dalit women and India’s hunger crisis to a panel of experts, teachers, and peers. She has been named a Borlaug Scholar and has won a $1,000 scholarship to Iowa State University in the College of Agriculture and Life Science. Congratulations Rithvika!
