6th Street SW, South of 76th Avenue Construction Update
Construction has resumed for this project. Work will resume on underground utilities in the coming weeks. We expect 6th Street SW to be closed beginning the morning of Monday, March 21. A marked detour route, which utilizes 18th Street SW, will be in place. More details below:
Traffic Impacts
- 6th St SW will be closed between 76th Avenue SW and Wright Brothers Blvd starting on 3/21/22.
- The intersection of 6th Street and 76th Avenue remains open.
- Access into BAE Systems is open from the north entrance to the site.
- Business and residential access will remain open throughout construction.
About the Project
The 6th Street SW project stretches 2,000 feet south of 76th Avenue SW, and includes pavement reconstruction and a roundabout, new sidewalk and trail, additional turn lanes, utility upgrades, and new trees and plantings. It is scheduled to be completed late summer 2022.
