Important dates:
October 13 – November 1 In person absentee voting at the Linn County Elections Office
Additional early voting opportunities
- Lindale Mall near the play area October 13-31. Hours are 11 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Mondays – Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
- October 23: Wellington Heights Church located at 1600 4th Ave SE in Cedar Rapids, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- October 24: IBEW Local 405 located at 1211 Wiley Blvd SW in Cedar Rapids from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- November 2, 2021 – Election Day
The City/School Election will be held on November 2, 2021. Voters will use their general election poll locations. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Voters will use their general election location. Click here to check your location.

Q: Where do I vote?
On election day you must vote at your assigned polling location (look up here). You may go to any of the early voting locations in Linn county before election day.
Q: What if I am not registered to vote?
The deadline for pre-registration is Oct. 18. After that date, you will need to bring proof of identity and proof of residency to your voting location.
Q: What forms of ID can I use in order to vote?
- Iowa Voter Identification Card (needs to be signed)
- Iowa Driver’s License
- Iowa Non-Operator ID
- U.S. Military ID or Veteran ID
- U.S. Passport
- Tribal ID Card/Document
