Celebrate Iowa art at The Gazette’s Excellence in the Arts event on Sunday, March 24th!
Excellence in the Arts was launched in 2023 to create an experience that would celebrate students making incredible contributions to the arts. This program will tell the stories of student artists and those making an impact in the Eastern Iowa community.
Jesse Flaherty, of Prairie High School, will be honored along with 7 other students from schools around Eastern Iowa for their work in visual, digital, and performing arts!
Upon arrival, walk into a world of creativity and artistry by viewing digital and visual student artist’s exhibits. Live artist, Garrett Turner, and live pianist, Elisabeth Kissling, will start the day of celebration.
The program will follow at 3 PM with performances by national touring hip hop artist, Tone Da Boss, a singer-songwriter who has taken the stage with many artists such as Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, Rene’e Bryant, and local pink-haired rockstar, Alisabeth Von Presley!
Learn about performances, students, and how to get tickets at https://arts.thegazette.com/
Join us in celebrating Jesse, the other student honorees, youth advocates in the community, performers, and all things Iowa art!
Date/Time: Sunday, March 24. Doors will open at 2 PM with the program starting at 3 PM.
Tickets: $10 for 18 and under, $20 for 19 and older. Register for the event now.
