Prairie Names Trinity Sadecky as First Head Girls Swim Coach
Prairie High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Trinity Sadecky as the first-ever Head Coach for the Prairie Girl’s Swim program pending Board approval.

Sadecky, who is a 3rd grade teacher at Prairie Hill Elementary School, brings a wealth of experience as a standout swimmer at Iowa City City High and a Division I student-athlete at Iowa State University. At City High, Sadecky was a Senior Captain, a three-time school record holder, and a NISCA Academic All-American. Following high school, Sadecky competed at the Division I level for Iowa State University earning Academic All-Big 12 honors three years in a row. Sadecky also has strong ties with local club swim teams.  

“I am beyond excited to be named the very first head coach for the Prairie Girl’s swim team,” said Sadecky. “Getting to start a brand-new program from the ground up is such a special opportunity, and I am so incredibly grateful to Prairie for trusting me to lead the way.” 

Prairie Names Heather Bunn as First Head Boys Swim Coach
Prairie High School is proud to announce the appointment of Heather Bunn as the first-ever Head Coach for the Prairie Boys Swim program pending Board approval. This landmark appointment marks a new chapter for Prairie athletics as the district launches its independent boys’ swim program.

Bunn, who is a 1st grade teacher at Prairie Hill Elementary, led the Xavier High School girls’ swim program and served as the head coach for both the boys and girls at LaSalle Middle School.” Bunn also has deep ties with local club swim teams.

“It is a privilege to be named the first-ever head coach and I am beyond excited to help shape the future of Prairie Boys Swimming,” said Bunn. I look forward to working with all levels to grow and build a competitive program.”
Bunn was a varsity standout and team captain at Jefferson High School, where she earned the distinction of State Alternate. She continued her athletic career at the collegiate level, competing for the Coe College swim team. Bunn also has strong ties with local club swim teams.

Prairie Activities Director Andrew Davis said, “The leadership of Sadecky and Bunn, combined with our new state-of-the-art facility, Prairie Summit YMCA, signals a bold new era for our swim programs. The future of Prairie swimming is incredibly bright and both Sadecky and Bunn are the ideal leaders to establish a culture of excellence for our inaugural season.”

The Prairie Girls swim season begins in August and the boys season starts in November. The teams will practice and compete in the new Prairie Summit YMCA which is scheduled to open in late spring of 2026.
