Important Changes and Features for 25 26 School Year (1)

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Important and exciting changes to our school bus transportation system that will be implemented starting August 25, 2025. These changes are designed to improve efficiency, safety, and the overall transportation experience for our students. All families have been asked to register their students for the upcoming school year. If you have not already registered, please go to the Transportation page on the district website.

KEY CHANGES AND BENEFITS

  • Optimized Routing System: We have thoroughly reviewed and updated our bus routes to minimize travel time and reduce the number of stops, resulting in a more efficient and timely commute for your children.
  • Enhanced Safety Features: Our new system prioritizes student safety. We have installed tablets and scanners in all of our vehicles to ensure a safe and accountable environment for all riders.
  • Improved Communication: We are excited to announce the launch of a new parent portal that will allow you to receive notifications about delays or route changes. This will ensure you stay informed and have peace of mind.
  • Dedicated Transportation Team: We are committed to providing the best transportation service possible and have a dedicated team available to address any questions or concerns you may have. Please feel free to contact us at 319-848-5204.

NEXT STEPS

  • Review Bus Routes and Schedules: You can access this information through our new parent online portal. You would have created this account when you registered your student for transportation.
  • Discuss Bus Safety and Rules: We encourage you to review the bus safety rules and expectations with your child to prepare them for the new system.
  • Student ID: Please review with your student the importance of having their student ID readily available every time that they board & exit the bus. Students without ID’s will be asked to go to the end of the line to ensure an efficient loading process. All students will receive their ID on Monday, August 25, at school and will be required to scan on the bus in the afternoon.

On the first few days of school the buses could be running later in time, both in the am and the pm but especially so in the PM.  These delays happen every year and are both expected and unavoidable.  We will try to stick to our schedule as much as possible but we want you to be aware that there will be delays on the first few days.  Our first priority on those days is to assure your child’s safety.  We appreciate your patience.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we implement these new changes. Our goal is to ensure a safe, reliable, and positive transportation experience for all of our students.
