The 2025 Metropolitan Honor Orchestra Festival brought together young musicians from across the Cedar Rapids area, including 27 talented 5th and 6th graders from Prairie Creek Intermediate School. These students, along with peers from Iowa City, Linn-Mar, and Mt. Vernon, performed on the historic Paramount Theatre on February 8, showcasing the power of collaborative music-making.

Taryn Kroymann, orchestra teacher at Prairie Creek Intermediate, served as a guest director for the Middle School Concert Orchestra.

The Metropolitan Orchestra Festival has been a celebrated collaboration between local schools and the greater metropolitan community for over 40 years, and this was the first year that College Community joined in its celebration. The event provides a unique opportunity for young musicians to come together, showcasing their skills and dedication to the art of orchestral performance.
