Please join us on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM for the Facilities Open House to celebrate newly completed projects with our community.  The open house is an opportunity to showcase recent renovations at Prairie Crest Elementary School and the addition of our new Agriculture building. You will have an opportunity to tour each building and visit with district staff, students, and representatives from OPN Architects. CAMPUS MAP

The renovations and additions are part of the $49.5 million bond issue that passed on February 2, 2016 and revenues generated from the state-wide penny tax. Projects at Crest addressed classroom space, safety, security, operational costs, and community access. The new agriculture building was paid for with revenues generated from the state-wide penny tax (SAVE).

New Agriculture Building
This past fall College Community Schools completed construction on a 6,400 square foot facility for the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) program on a 155-acre farm site located just north of Prairie High School. The new building contains three main elements: a science classroom, a conference room/storm shelter, and a greenhouse. The site also contains various outbuildings.

In the fall of 2020, College Community Schools launched the Prairie Agriculture and FFA program with exploratory courses being offered to students at Prairie Point Middle School and an Introduction to Ag course to students at Prairie High School. With expanded course offerings, today there are approximately 225 students involved in our Prairie Agriculture and FFA program.

“We are so excited to showcase the renovations and additions at Crest and our new Agriculture building,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Wheeler.  “The updates at Crest have really enhanced building safety and accessibility for our students, staff and visitors. The new Agriculture building will allow us to expose our students to the countless opportunities through our agriculture education program including FFA. I can’t thank the community enough. A great deal of community support and partnerships went into bringing us to this day.”
