On Saturday, December 3, several members of the Prairie Point Middle School 8th grade band were selected for the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association (NEIBA) Honor Band. Students rehearsed all day with a respected music educator and presented a concert later that afternoon.

Special congratulations to 8th grader Liam Clark who was selected for the prestigious Iowa Bandmasters Association (IBA) All-Iowa 8th Grade Honor Band. The highest honor an 8th grade band member can receive in the state of Iowa.

Students auditioned for the IBA Honor Band while participating in the Northeast Iowa Honor Band in Oelwein on Saturday.  Liam was the only percussionist selected from the northeast district and is one of only six eighth grade percussionists in the state selected for the IBA All-Iowa Honor Band.
