BPA State Secretary Coilee Hynek

Once every four years, Iowa chapters of Business Professionals of America (BPA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Distributive Education Clubs of American (DECA) meet in Des Moines for a United Fall Leadership Conference (UFLC).  While promoting leadership through events featuring workshops and activities, the goal is the continued building of high-quality business Career and Technical Student Organization Chapters in Iowa.  Prairie’s chapter representatives travelled to Des Moines November 13th and 14th for UFLC, a coordinated conference featuring the state of Iowa’s Career Tech Student Organizations, BPA, FBLA and DECA.

Participants had the opportunity to hear a keynote speaker, attend breakout sessions on various business topics and collaborate with 700+ CTSO students from all across the State of Iowa.  Representing Prairie were Seniors Coilee Hynek who is currently serving as BPA State Secretary, Olivia Benson and Carley Nolte along with Junior Ava Werning.

Prairie’s BPA Chapter boasts the largest in the State and members will head to Des Moines in February to compete against other Iowa schools.  Following State Conference, those competitors who qualify will attend National Leadership Conference in Anaheim in April.
