Information
We can all agree on the importance of healthy life habits, supporting those around us, and removing the negative connotation surrounding mental health. That’s why a “Strike Out the Stigma” inaugural event is being hosted on May 25th by Project SAFE: Cedar River Corridor Area, Prairie High School Baseball, Softball Program, Prairie’s Green Bandana Project. It is an outreach initiative focused on bringing these crucial conversations to the forefront in our community.
Special guest speaker, Austin Byler — former professional athlete, 2 time NCAA All-American & 2 time MLB Draft Pick — will be joining us for this pivotal event and speaking to students during the school day and between ball games that evening.
We also will have community organizations/businesses like Waxwing Psychological Services, PLLC, Panda Marie LLC, Foundation 2 Crisis Services, Johnson Counseling LLC and many more on hand to share local resources in our community with athletes, students, families, and fans. This event will provide a safe environment where attendees can gain a deeper understanding of the causes, warning signs, and coping strategies regarding depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation & other mental illnesses. Through information and conversation, we CAN flip the script and “Strike Out the Stigma”.
Our limited-time apparel/merch webstore is open for pre-orders until May 2nd and can be found at this link! One more way to Strike Out the Stigma and show your support for such a great cause and those affected by mental illness. https://strikeoutthestigma2022.itemorder.com
