As we enter the home stretch, interior progress is accelerating. Painting is well underway throughout the facility, and final installations have officially begun. In the aquatic center, the recreation pool ceilings installations are beginning this week, while flooring is being laid for the basketball courts and second-floor fitness rooms start up next week. Simultaneously, tiling is progressing in the locker rooms and family changing areas.

A major milestone was reached this week with the arrival of the competition pool’s bulkhead all the way from Italy. This movable, rigid wall is essential for dividing the pool into versatile sections and is currently being installed. Outside, as the weather warms, exterior sitework continues with the pouring of sidewalks and access concrete, setting the stage for upcoming landscaping and greenery.

The Prairie Summit YMCA is scheduled to open in late spring.
