CRPD 2025 RECOGNITION CEREMONY (51)

Congratulations to Prairie High School School Resource Officer Janae Obbink who received the Community Service Award from the Cedar Rapids Police Department at their Annual Awards Ceremony. The award goes to an officer who has provided outstanding service to the community, to the department and made continuing efforts towards self-improvement and self-development.

“Serving the students and families of the College Community School District, along with the citizens of Cedar Rapids, is a true honor,” said Obbink. “Whether it’s ensuring school safety, supporting students in the juvenile justice system, sharing insights into criminal law and public service, or simply offering a listening ear and encouragement. “I’m grateful to contribute to the lives of our young people in any way I can.”

Since August 2014, Officer Obbink has served as the School Resource Officer for Prairie High School.
