School Board

The College Community School District is proud to celebrate the hard work and leadership of our school board members. In partnership with families, educators, and the community, they ensure our schools provide high-quality education and opportunities for every student.

May is School Board Recognition Month, a time to honor the dedicated individuals who serve as a Guiding Light for Student Success in Iowa’s public schools. This month-long celebration recognizes the vital role school board members play in shaping education and supporting students.

There are 1,845 Iowa school board members who volunteer their time each month to guide their districts. While they receive no compensation, their reward comes from seeing Iowa students thrive.

Serving on the College Community School Board are Randy Bauer, Markus Cannon, Angie Ehle, Todd Hahlen, Tobey Harrison, Dawn Kousheh and Jed Peterson. The College Community School Board establishes a vision for the education program, ensures fiscal responsibility and transparency and they establish the standards for academic achievement and the overall quality of education within the district.

“The commitment of our board members goes far beyond meetings,” said Dr. Doug Wheeler, Superintendent of Schools. “It’s a genuine passion for ensuring every student in the College Community School District has the chance to thrive. Their vision shapes our present and paves the way for a bright future. They are true advocates for our students and the entire Prairie Community.”

Please join the College Community School District in saying THANK YOU to our Board members who lay the foundation for excellent educational opportunities for all Prairie students!
