The Ely Public Library’s summer teen programming offers a diverse range of activities throughout June and July, largely focusing on digital skills, creative expression, and social awareness. Kicking off on June 4th, teens can learn to create meaningful content on TikTok, followed by Podcast Productions on June 11th to grasp the basics of audio storytelling. June 18th brings Digital Zine Creation, allowing teens to express themselves through text and visuals, while June 25th is dedicated to Citizen Journalism, where participants will develop short news pieces on local topics. Moving into July, the AI Art Workshop on July 2nd explores artificial intelligence in art with ethical considerations, and on July 9th, Gaming for Food will challenge teens to design games addressing social issues. July 16th offers Augmented Reality Storytelling, where teens can create AR experiences to uncover local history. A critical discussion on The Anxious Generation: Teens & Tech Wellness is scheduled for July 23rd, focusing on the impact of technology on mental health, before concluding the summer with an End of Summer Celebration Pizza Party on July 30th.
