Sharpen your skills and make a splash this summer at the Camp Tanager Summer Swim Camp! Designed for competitive swimmers ages 8–14, this four-day camp, July 6–9, combines expert instruction with classic camp fun. Swimmers will refine all four strokes, starts, turns, underwaters, and racing strategies while also participating in dryland training, nutrition sessions, and goal-setting activities. Best of all, campers get the unique experience of blending a high-energy competitive swim camp with the excitement and adventure of traditional summer camp. Spots are limited!

Fundamental Skills Camp is designed to teach & improve upon the vital skills necessary to find success in the game of basketball. Each day there will be an emphasis on a few fundamental components of the game. Campers can expect to practice shooting, passing & catching, ball handling, rebounding, and defense. All drills are introduced and taught based upon ability and age level. The basic concepts of 5 on 5 and game strategy will also be covered. Each camper will also receive a basketball and a t-shirt.

5K4K9 fun run/walk hosted by the Marion Police Department. The family-friendly community event will be held at Linn-Mar High School and include bounce houses, a kids’ fun run, and the 5K event. Be sure to stick around to see the MPD K9s and their handlers in action. Event activities start at 9 a.m.
The cost is $25 for those over 18 and $15 for those participating in the kids’ fun run. Register via the city website at cityofmarion.org/5k4k9
Proceeds from this event will help support the Police Department’s K9 program and the creation of a new Crisis K9 team. The Crisis K9 is specially trained to provide emotional support and comfort to individuals, families and first responders during times of crisis. From traumatic incidents to community emergencies, this resource plays an important role in supporting both residents and staff.
