The American History Video Contest was established starting this year to encourage young people to think creatively about our nation’s great history and learn about history in a new light. Video are judged for historical accuracy, adherence to the topic, organization of materials, interest, originality, and neatness. Each student participant receives a certificate of participation from the chapter and the chapter winners receive bronze medals and certificates. State winners receive certificates and silver medals. National winners receive special certificates, medals, and a monetary award. The essay topic this year is “Enjoying a New Kind of Boston Tea Party.” Please contact the contest chair for more information and contest rules. Videos due for judging by Dec 2, 2024.

This Year the Prairie FFA Chapter is hosting its first-ever FFA Market, along with an Ag Building open house. At the Market, we will be showcasing students’ Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) products. Some items will include fresh farm eggs, baked goods, fresh produce, sweet treats and more. We will also be selling any extra pumpkins and mums left over from the sales. The Ag Building will be open to families and supporters who would like to see our facility. Please join us at the Ag Building from 9 am – 1 pm on Saturday the 28th of September.

Information
Make the most out of your child’s day off school! Send them to In-Service Day Camp at ICNC to meet some live “unhuggables”. Students will get to see and learn about animals that are often considered non-desirable. A live Turkey Vulture, tarantulas (in enclosures), snake and other critters.
Dress kids for indoor and outdoor play, and as we will also explore and search for animals outdoors. Please send a sack lunch and snack.
This program is available for all K-5th grade students.
