We are inviting teen drivers with learner’s permits and their parents/guardians to participate in a research study at the University of Iowa that is testing a parent-focused teen driving program. This program seeks to help parents/guardians better prepare their teens for independent driving by focusing on training teens to anticipate hazards on the road before they become critical. Participation requires two 90-minute visits to the Driving Safety Research Institute in Coralville, IA. The visits involve using a state-of-the-art driving simulator and answering online questionnaires. Parents/guardians and teens will each be paid $70 for completing all study procedures. *Recruitment is currently underway and ongoing through October*

Come learn what Cub Scouting is all about! Families interested in joining Pack 37 are invited to meet our leaders and Scouts, hear about the fun and adventure of Scouting, and get answers to any questions about the program.
After a short information session, stick around for one of our favorite traditions โ the Fall Pack Rocket Launch! Watch as Cub Scouts send their high-flying rockets soaring into the sky.
โจ Bonus for New Families: Any family who registers for Scouting at the event will receive their own rocket kit to build and launch โ and join in the adventure right away!

Prairie Soccer Club’s Fall 2025 youth soccer league is for kids ages 4-12 that want to learn soccer skills and learn to use those skills in weekly games. The league is for 8 weeks and each week the kids will have a 30-minute soccer skills session followed by a game. The games will be 3v3 or 4v4 based on the ages of the kids. The league begins September 7 and ends October 26.

Job shadow opportunities are available for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors through Kirkwood Community Collegeโs Workplace Learning Connection! Both in-person and virtual opportunities are available, and participation is free!
Shadows are typically 2-4 hours in length, are considered an excused absence, and students get the opportunity to explore a career field and connect classroom learning to real-world work. The Aug/Sept job shadow application portal will be open through Sept. 17, 2025 at 3pm.
