AK and Kindergarten

If your child will be 5 year old by September 15, 2022, they are eligible to enroll in AK or Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year.

ALTERNATIVE KINDERGARTEN (AK)

The College Community School District also offers a program for student whose parents feel they are not ready for full-day kindergarten and wish to retain them for a year before entering kindergarten. AK students must be 5 years old by September 15, 2022. Due to a limited number of openings, not all requests will be granted. AK is divided into two half-day sections, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. To accommodate family needs, wrap-around care is available for a fee from 6:30am-6:30pm, Monday through Friday.

KINDERGARTEN

Starting kindergarten is an exciting time for you and your child, we want the enrollment process to go as smoothly as possible for your family. To enroll for the 2022-2023 school year a child must be 5 years of age on or before September 15, 2022. For further instructions about the registration process, please see the link for new student registration.

Preliminary Kindergarten Registration

Building Placement

The district office determines building placements. Due to a variety of factors, a student’s building placement for kindergarten is not determined by the student’s preschool placement. The key factors that are considered when assigning students to one of our five excellent elementary schools are class size and the demographic composition of the student body. The district’s goal is to ensure all five elementary schools have similar student populations. College Community’s central campus allows us to balance both the students demographics and resources to the benefit of all children and building assignments are critical steps to this balancing effort.

Residency

Per Board Policy 501.6 all students must live in the district and provide proof of residency to register.
